Sometimes Canada Really Sucks!

Since Canada finally got rid of wheat cartel (know as wheat board to most) we need to get rid of the dairy cartel and the media cartel as well. Canada can't have access to all the media streaming services available because of our blessed CRIA where we pay a huge amounts to get media.

The dairy cartel allow for dairy farmers to be lazy and have a 100 cows on their farm costing them huge money and making little profits with subsidies instead of doing like the rest of the world specifically New Zealand and actually make the farmers run their business in a way that is most cost effective, profitable and productive. New Zealand is the world’s largest butter exporter and accounts for about 44% of all traded butter. New Zealand is also an important exporter of skim and whole milk powders, contributing about 27% and 38%, respectively, of world trade. While Canada’s milk production has failed to grow since the 1970s, the other countries examined experienced growth after reducing their own interventionist policies. For example, U.S. dairy policy evolved from supports that established the price of milk to a more liberalized system. Meanwhile, U.S. milk production has grown steadily since the mid-1970s. Not to mention how much waste we produce because of the trade controls forces us to pay around $5.00 for a jug of milk and that's about 50% higher than we should be paying because of the ridiculous trade practices and protectionism of the so called dairy board.

This is just like the licensing fees for music, movies and tv not to mention online radio which are about 47% of the profits plus other fees. How long can the idiots from CRIA continue to spin this entire blame piracy bullshit as the reason why we can't have unrestricted content from cool services like Netflix, Google Music, Hulu, Pandora and all the other heinously restricted and blocked media content providers. Maybe if they stopped charging these companies huge fees for Canadian access and being backed by our assholes in Ottawa pushing this ridiculous tactic people would adopt these services into their lives for media consumption. I'd love to have access to unrestriced music services and I'd have no trouble paying a couple of dollars for them either.

I'd buy milk and cheese from Canada by choice if the dairy board/cartel was scrapped and their was imported milk and other dairy products on the store shelves as long as they participated in a little price competition. Cheese does not need to cost $9.00 for a brick but it does because of the tariffs that are placed upon the competition and the price setting for the products disguised as protecting the Canadian farmers from losing the market to imported goods. Let's be honest this is a welfare system for no one but the dairy board and on the other end CRTC and CRIA. We need to start looking into who are the polititians who are against these groups and put them into power and send Ottawa people who aren't afraid of competition and like innovative people that can grow markets and make money for the ecconomy just not lining their pockets for acting like mobsters.

If we continue down this path you will never see big time Canadian start ups like Google, Netflix or others come from Canada because the people who wish to be great are constantly stopped by these sort of government agencies that lie, cheat and steal to keep themselves in a job that is unnecessary in 2012. If other countries can compete with one another and be successful why can't we be part of that and enjoy some of these profits and successes? CRIA and Canadian Dairy Board don't want you to because that spells the end of their golden goose laying eggs for them and that is why I say it and I believe it "Sometimes Canada really sucks!"

You Are A Fucking Moron Part 392

I'm reading through Facebook this morning and what do I see and bunch of fucking idiots staring back at me. All these rejects crying and bitching about losing their shit because a little storm falsely upgraded to a hurricane went through the Gulf again! Yes again! So one asshole gets flooded lives about fifty feet from a levee that water flowed over ruining his shit. Well you live under the natural sea level protected by a hill of dirt and you go on the news and whine about being wiped out like you didn't see this coming.

Obviously if you live near a river or the ocean and a storm hits your region the big old wind will pick up some water and move it to places it usually doesn't go or has been forced out of so jackasses can build and steal dumb peoples money who just have to have that ocean view or that beautiful riverside house. It's not our fault that stupidity is so prevalent in the US specifically in Mississippi, New Orleans, Louisiana and the like. If you are poor and those are the only places you can afford well get a better job or stop being a fucking lazy douche bag collecting food stamps and welfare. Move yourself and your family to a city or town where you can work a fucking job and make your way.

I see these toothless idiots or overweight moo moo wearing woman with six kids crying on the news and I'm not sorry, I laugh at them and shake my head because they deserve their fate. Stupid is as stupid does and that's such a true statement about the idiots who choose to live in these zones which are impacted like this on a regular basis. When a real disaster strikes like Katrina which was a massive storm that took out places that were to be considered safe zones I have empathy but this little storm was nothing out of the ordinary and I say go fuck yourself and get off TV you asshats!

Friends Do They Really Exist Or Are We All Just Fooling Ourselves?

I'm now firmly into my adult years and I've made some pretty good connections with people. I consider some of them friends others are passing relationships that come in and out of my life and some are short periods of less than a year in length. In school you hangout with people there and those people change nearly year to year depending on who is in your classes. Now sure some stick like glue but not many people are still hanging around with the same people from grade one or two and if you are well either your living in a small town or you've had large time gaps in said relationship.

I can remember hanging out every day with certain people like one guy in grade five named Sean. We were nearly inseparable but then summer came round he moved to a new house I of course moved as well which happened a lot in my family. That friendship ended as both of us moved onto bigger and better things I'm sure we believed. There was another one of those kin type friendships that seemed like it was going to be there forever but as we both grew up and got married no matter how much effort was put in we drifted away from each other and formed new bonds. Both of us had kids one of us got divorced and also became hugely successful. I was not the latter of that statement for sure as I took a long time to really understand what I needed to do and how to get there.

As a young adult I finally made that one friendship that has become truly the meaning of the word and no matter how long the absences have been as soon as we are together in a room or on the phone not a second ticks by and the friendship puzzle is locked into place. But with that said both of us have completely different lives and experiences and even interests. It is a wonder we have been able to continue and maintain this relationship as long and successfully as we have. I'm not exactly the easiest person to be connected to for a lengthy period of time. My personality is somewhat grating to many and I'm a tad opinionated maybe even a little rude to be honest. As I've moved forward in life I've made another seriously good friendship out of a bad start.

I made an acquaintance at College in Victoria and we actually got along famously for a while. He was into much of the same stuff I was and he brought me into his circle to a small extent. We hung out a lot and one day he forced one of his friends to pick me up on their trek. This person didn't want to and didn't really give me the time of day but after that initial introduction things changed. I, because of my college friend and coffee sessions got to know his pal a little more over time. Then he and I started to hangout at his work place now and again which expanded to us hanging out after work. He worked until midnight and I worked until two am most nights four am many nights. We both had something in common that way neither of us had much in the way of friends to hangout with after work because of our whacky hours. Another one of those strange ones where we both came from different worlds but had the main connection of computers, games and warez.

Those two are my longest and most committed friendships where I put in as much to maintaining the friendships as they do as well. Many years have passed and I consider both of them friends because absence doesn't erode the connection. In my last ten years I've been lucky enough to form more actual friendships outside of family which I don't count because most of the time you are forced by family events to interact with those people. The funny thing is both began from business interactions, see I have a trivia show on the side which is how I met these two characters. Both whom are brothers and are for sure each others best friends. So the three of us have become a pretty tight click as our interests are very similar and the three of us have an insatiable love for music. Music is by the way my best friend and will always be.

These relationships take work and we've done a lot of it between us all wading through all the idiosyncrasies of our individual personalities to get to the friendship level. I don't think many people have deeply rooted friendships in abundance and I am positive that most only hangout with someone because they need social interaction or benefit from that person. I know I've only hung out with someone to gain knowledge or because they could get me something I needed. We are all guilty of it at some point in our lives and will be in the future. I know that I have a lot of acquaintances which I might use the term friend on but they don't know me under the mask. I mean not many folks could accept me and my personality unless I have my mask on.

So as my title of this blog post asked I'd have to say yes they do exist but not everyone has them and no we are not fooling ourselves because at some point anybody can make that connection. I will say no one can have a real friendship with a lot of people at once because it takes too much time, effort and attention to maintain it properly. Remember one thing Facebook friends aren't real friends unless you see them and interact with them in person regularly. You need to get out and put some effort into the friendship or it will never flourish and become an integral part of your life.

It's Been A Long Time

Funny how I expected to be pretty productive on this blog but it just fell off my radar. OK I've really been kinda zen over the past while and haven't really been too annoyed by the world around me. I thought about a post about the Vancouver riots and how the sports broadcaster on CKNW Sports Talk was a complete pussy and was totally wrong about 90% of everything that came out his mouth. Boy was that a bunch of shite but I emailed said my peace and never got here. That's happened a few times where I've vented on Facebook or Twitter and forgot about coming here for an in-depth run.

I am going on a trip so I might have some good stuff to bitch about soon. Then again some stupid Muslims might fuck something up or the moron's next-door (USA) could stick their heads even further up their asses who knows. But I sign off to get the rest of brunch finished for my wife and her family to celebrate her birthday. Let's see how that goes sometimes they are good fodder for my asshole canon. But since it's something nice for my wife I will bite my tongue and hold my lips closed for her sake. Yeah I can do it I know what your thinking!

2011 The Year I'm Hoping Will See Some Political Balance

I am hopeful that this year we will see some real politics take place instead of big corporations forcing all levels of government to cower to their wants and needs. BP should be held accountable for their disaster for one, another would be the RIAA and MPAA getting their asses handed to them by our Canadian courts making them stop this suing crap. It's ridiculous because they don't make any money all they do is spend money to chase money that never existed. I would love to see a new BC leader who's not afraid to say no to special interest groups and the so called First Nations. Let that crap be stopped and no more welfare for just being a drunken indian. I'd also like to see the entire planet stand up to the political and disturbing trend of allowing Muslim's change our laws to support their religious ideals. Islam is by far the biggest threat the world is facing and not standing up and stopping that will be a mistake that might destroy the world.

I'd love to see corporations actually pay their taxes and the falsely inflated price of gas come crashing back to reality. It would be nice if some left of centre people like Al Frankin, Bill Mahr and Richard Dawkins all ran for political positions and won. I'd love to see people with common sense and intelligence have a chance to run things for awhile. The decommission of churches and a law preventing any new places of worship be built in Canada to start would also be another dream of mine. There is no reason any longer for that rubbish to be taught to the world. We all know even the devout that their religions are corrupt and full of liars, thieves and criminals. A world-wide stomping out of charity drives is another thing I'd love to see as that is an industry that barely ever pays off for the intended. Those major organizations collect money by the truck loads but somehow it never gets out to where it is needed anywhere close to the amounts collected in dollars.

I know that much of this will never happen because America is too obsessed with capitalism to start a trend, Canada is too afraid, England is broke and an Islamic state now, Ireland is broke as well, France is lost in race protests and well Sweden and Australia somehow stand poised to achieve almost all the things I'd like to see change or happen. Funny how those two countries seem to be getting it right more often than they do wrong right now. Even Australia with their somewhat crazy right wing Christian leader is doing more the right things. I say go for it Australia and Sweden and the others who can see the light of day show the rest of the world how to get it done. Russia with all their troubles can lead the way against the copyright wars and China, Taiwan, Vietnam, Thailand also strong against the US's attempts to control the internet. I applaud them loudly for their strength to stand up to the playground bully which has always been the United States Of (We Have Our Heads Up Our Asses) America.

Affirmative Action Is A Joke

Now the real question is this ‘who would you trust most to save your life a racial minority that might only have their job as a surgeon in the hospital because they were black or some other race other than Asian or Caucasian, who you can be damn sure earned their position by achievement?’ Obviously you will choose the Caucasian surgeon or the Asian surgeon because both would have done all the work to get the job.

In the US and Canada we are forced to hire a certain amount of racial minorities to round out our companies and in turn are forced to hire second rate employees because we might not have the proper amount of token
s to make the small interest groups happy. Now I don't care about race and honestly I think folks of all races are able to perform up to standard and no one race is greater than the other. But if I was to have a large office or staff and I had to choose between a Caucasian guy who was obviously the best candidate or an East Indian person who was almost as good I'd choose the Caucasian guy. But I would probably choose the person who fit the office on a social level best as well. So if I had cool guy show up who wasn't the best at the specific job but would be a better team player and fit in with my current staff I'd choose them no matter their race.

If some Caucasian showed up dressed like a hippie with dreads I wouldn't hire him/her no way no how. I think that people who dress like that wouldn’t fit in to my personal company. I don't like the lifestyle that type of dress signifies and so, I'd hire a completely different person. I judge everyone by how they dress and act as everyone will judge me the same way or discount me for being overweight. Nobody wants to hire a fat guy or girl to work for them but affirmative action doesn't dictate that you have to hire a Jew, Fat Chick, Bald Guy, Blind Girl, Disabled Person or an alcoholic. But it does tell me I have to hire a Black, Indian, East Indian, Asian and so forth. I find that ridiculous and have stated why previously.

Getting a job based on the colour of your skin signifies that you’re not good enough to have earned the job which puts an unfair judgment onto all minorities which are really not minorities any longer. Affirmative action produces no concrete benefits for minority students in universities or colleges and actually has several harmful effects, according to a new report by the Cato Institute. "Recent research shows that college admissions preferences do not offer even the practical benefits claimed by their supporters," writes Marie Gryphon, a lawyer and policy analyst with the Cato Institute's Center for Educational Freedom.

Political scientist Jay Green found that only 20 percent of African-American students and 16 percent of Hispanics leave high school with the minimum credentials. "Minority underrepresentation in college is caused by public schools' failure to prepare minority students," writes Gryphon. "It is a failure that affirmative action does not remedy." Preferences also do not increase the earning power of students who attend more selective schools as a result of affirmative action. Recent research shows that when equally prepared students are compared, those attending less selective schools make as much money as those from more selective schools.

Of course racial quotas hurt minorities. Anytime you lower the bar and standards for a certain group of individuals, you’re not doing them a favor. It’s also insulting to assume that the only way the group is going to succeed is if you establish a different and less difficult set of rules just for them. In the end; What affirmative action means to me, is when I see a minority professional person, I always wonder are they really best qualified for their job, or were they moved to the head of the line, over more qualified people, based solely on the fact that they are not Caucasian. If I need major surgery, I want the best qualified doctor available, not the one that makes everyone giddy with political correctness.

8 The Mormon Proposition

I just watched the film 8 The Mormon Proposition and even though I am not an American and thank goodness of that I am disturbed at how easily the church was able to extort money from their faithful and buy a political process. This film is about same sex marriage in California and how the LDS church paid illegally to promote a political action which is criminal in the state. I am very bothered by how religious groups tell their followers lies constantly and make the people believe they are absolute truths. Anyone with a brain that works knows that the bible is hooey. Sure the book might have some truth in its stories but c'mon no woman gets pregnant without sexual contact or having male semen inserted into their vagina. Never has anyone been able to part a bowl of water let alone a sea and the ridiculous supernatural ideal that a person dead and buried rose up and lived again.

Three of the major stories are all supernatural at heart fables told by illiterates too many years ago to really matter. Being gay is not a sickness and it isn't curable and shouldn't be taught that it is. I am not gay I do not promote homosexual propaganda and I have a huge problem with the insatiable need to sell homosexual as a product. I also will not support any cause that would hurt a gay person and treat them unfairly. Some of the greatest people in history were most likely homosexual. Pirates used to bring young men along on their ships sit them on greased up poles and use them for sex. Now were all sailors gay probably not but that was a norm at one time.

Mormon's torture and brainwash in a Hitler type way anyone who is considered sick with gayness. They do this in disguise of a cure for homosexuality and deny it all. We know that they continue to use these tactics but keep it underground. Faithful people who tell you how wonderful and right Jesus is and God is have no problem kicking you to the curb if you question the leader of their cult. I say this all the time and I am sure I offend my friends and family but all organized religions are cults. Maybe they are not Satanic cults or Military cults but they are still cults. They want you to blindly believe in whatever they tell you.

The Mormon's have powerful leaders called prophets that supposedly are spoken to by God. Now how dumb are you people out there to actually fall for that crap? If God existed she would be fucking angry with how she's been made out to be a man first of all. Why would I consider God to be a woman you might ask well I'm a man and I know we couldn't come up with the confusing bullshit that makes up a woman's thought pattern. Men are straight forward and fairly uncomplicated and wouldn't make their counterpart smarter, more mature and complex than himself so...your God would be a woman dumbass.

The church of all major religions have become taken over by crazy power hungry people. As we all know absolute power corrupts absolutely and this has come true with all religious leaders. Religion is a powerful control tool and it is used by the elite to control the masses for many years. I'm am not religious and I will never accept the asinine stories that are read from the big black book of death. You can believe in your fantasy land in the sky and the one under the ground I'm ok with that but when you use it to control me I will always stand up against you. I am not a believer nor a hypocrite and I don't have to accept anyone's religious belief's just because you allow yourself to be a follower doesn't mean I can't speak out against it.

I love how people always tip-toe around the devout when they are speaking about religion or doing something based in religion so you don't offend them. They can outwardly speak about church and groups and their assumptions of reality but we are not allowed to tell them to shut up or tell them its stupid. If I was to start talking about anything against their faith I'm instantly labeled in a negative manner. Rude, dumb, uneducated and so forth for not believing but they can believe in all these supernatural things like, one being created the entire planet and solar system. Not possible but if you have faith and just accept whatever your being told without malice well then your good. I will admit religion is great fodder for making Sci-Fi TV shows and movies and its great for making horror films and the like. As an entertainment media it does have a lot of value but as a life long path it costs way to much money.

Watch the movie and see for yourself and this isn't just a one off incident it is what religious organizations do everyday. They promote their word and what each specific leaders agenda is at the time. All church's are exactly the same in the end no matter how they get you there the end is control and money. I would like to see all religions and church's pay taxes on their income as they are corporations looking for a profit as much as Wal-Mart and Cost-Co. So to the Mormon church and their stupid faithful I'd like say "FUCK YOU". They are almost as dirty and greasy as the Evangelists are in America and they are as disgusting as all Muslims.
